With only the heat winners to qualify directly for Thursday’s semifinals, Cicely Madden and Gevvie Stone did exactly that, winning heat 1 and heat 4 respectively. Semifinals will be Thursday, at 8:00 and 8:10 AM, and will be broadcast live on NBCSports.com.
Alie Rusher and Maggie Fellows both placed second in heat 3 and heat 4, and will race in Wednesday’s repechage. Alie goes off at 8:08 am, followed by Maggie at 8:16.
In the lightweight women’s double, Mary Jones and Emily Schmieg also won their heat, and will advance directly to Thursday’s semifinals. Their semifinals will be held at 9:00 and 9:10am.
