After a hard week of racing in Racice, Czech Republic, BRF athletes have completed the World Rowing Championships.
Molly Reckford (racing with Cambridge BC’s Michele Sechser) finished with a brilliant silver medal in the lightweight women’s double sculls. Reckford and Sechser were among the favorites, after wins in their heat and semifinal, and they lived up to their billing, moving into second place at the five hundred meter mark, and never relinquishing their position after that, finishing nearly three seconds in front of third place Germany.

Emily Kallfelz and Maggie Fellows raced in the B final of the Women’s Quadruple Sculls, finishing 9th overall, overlapping with 8th place Italy down the entire length of the race course. The crew raced both semifinals and finals with an alternate (Grace Joyce) onboard, after Savannah Brija went down with illness after the heats.

Mary Jones Nabel fought hard to finish 4th overall, and 10th in the B-final. Despite having to race the repechage, Jones Nabel advanced to the A/B semifinals, where she finished just one place out of qualifying for the A final.
We are extremely proud of all four of our athletes and the way they represented the USA and Boston on the World Stage, and are excited to see what 2023 has in store for them and their teammates. We hope that you consider supporting them on their way to Paris and LA!
