Shanghai, China, Sept 24, 2025. BRF’s Andy LeRoux and NYAC’s Sam Melvin won the C final today, and finished 13th overall in the Men’s Double Sculls at the 2025 World Rowing Championships. Leroux and Melvin did not qualify for the A/B semifinals from the heats, finishing fourth behind Romania, Switzerland and Great Britain, and going directly into the C final. Consequently, winning the C final was the best result possible for them after their first race. The pair started in 6th place at the first 500 meter mark, and then proceeded to move to 3rd, 2nd, and finally 1st at the finish line, beating Great Britain by about 1.5 seconds.
We are excited to see what the rest of this quad holds for Andy and the rest of Team USA!
