BRF’s Andy LeRoux raced with the US Men’s Quad at the 2025 Lucerne World Cup, coming away with a bronze medal. Racing with Chris Carlson, who had been training on the Charles recently, Cedar Cunningham and Northeastern Alum Jacob Plihal, the crew finished in 5:43.49, 1.95 seconds behind second place Poland, and 1.35 seconds ahead of Germany. Great Britain won with a time of 5:39.65.
The US men have not had much success in the quadruple sculls recently (a world cup medal in 2014), and have not qualified for the Olympics since 2012, making this a particularly exciting start for the event in the LA Olympic Cycle.
LeRoux earned his seat in the quad based on speed order and selection camp results. Final selections for the 2025 World Championships in Shanghai will be announced in August.
